Hello hello! So good to be back here blogging today! We have recently made a big move to Richmond, VA, and it has been a whirlwind to say the least. We love the area so far and are having a lot of fun exploring and trying new restaurants. I might even start a little restaurant page for the places we really like here on the blog.
Anyway! Onto today’s recipe. I hope no one out there is tired of green smoothies because I certainly am not! Lately I’ve been sneaking in a secret ingredient that makes them extra creamy and even more healthy – avocados! Smoothies are my number one way to get my kids to eat something as healthy as avocado and spinach. It works every time.
This peanut butter banana avocado smoothie is super simple as it contains just 6 ingredients:
-
- frozen bananas
- avocado
- milk
- peanut butter
- spinach
- chia seeds
I made one of these for us as dessert recently to get rid of my post-dinner sweet craving without any added sugar. It pretty much doesn’t get any easier than dump everything in the blender and turn it on! Oh, and if you’re wondering, you really cannot taste the spinach or the avocado. They are both so mild-flavored that the banana tends to overpower them. The avocado makes for a great consistency and the spinach helps you get your greens without even picking up a fork.
Smoothies with this much green are definitely energy in a glass!
I hope you’ll give my peanut butter banana avocado smoothie a try! Be sure to tag #kristensfixins on social media and let me know how you liked it!

I’ve worked several smoothie shops and one had this recipe, I love all the ingredients! A few tweaks of personal preference. Make with almond milk, a dash of honey, a handful of cashews. This is my go to meal replacement shake. The flavors blend and what you think would be beyond gross becomes creamy, filling, and delectable.

Yum Allen! I love those suggestions and I’m going to try it that way too. It’s always fun to do a few tweaks to switch it up. Thanks for commenting!

How is it without the chia seeds and spinach? I just don’t have those and don’t feel like shopping.
